Grace in Motion

The Session

What is involved in a Martial Arts training session?

To be a well rounded session, it will need to cover all the basic aspects of your style, give an opportunity to learn more and leave you feeling inspired. Be it because it was fun or you thought you had exhausted yourself only to find there was more left in the tank if you really tried... Where else can you get that feeling?

The Basic Aspects

Depending on your Martial Style these may vary slightly. but essentially, most sessions begin with a warm up which includes stretching and sometimes breathing exercises. You'll then move on to practicing some set techniques or combinations. This is followed by some bag impact work, then sparring, kata, self defence and sometimes a fitness regime.

Quite a lot to cram into one or two hours. Hence the need to practice outside your weekly visits to the dojo.
